Someone asking about this strange issue.

Hi my 2010 MBP 13" has a problem, it only beeps whenever I charge it.

At first when I turn it on, it doesn't beep but when I charge it, it beeps.

When it’s a green light in the charge it doesn't beep but when it turns red it beeps. What do you think is the problem?

Is it the charger? I have no idea on this one..... @danj

I have asked the to do the PRAM & Diagnostic report, and to install coconutBattery (Not sure if they can manage that though)..... I toild them to also remove and clean the RAM or even use just 1 slot, but the issue still persists.

@livfe what kind of Beep? It is possible that the computer has issues PP1V05_S0 when the charger is plugged in (bad C7771 capacitor) If that rail is low, the chipset won't initialize the RAM, which can cause the beeping. Check by disconnecting the battery and connect a known-good MagSafe. If it boots fine, your battery or the battery sensing circuit are the issues

Yes I read this same post before.... Naturally that is RAM, But whats with the beeps when connected to the charger and no beeps when not? Different thing or, as it does turn on and load the system, if it was a RAM issue it wouldn't boot?

@livfe - What is the OS level on this system? The older Lion OS 9 release I think when in sleep mode would beep when the charger was either plugged in or disconnected. But that's years age...

@danj Yes this system is way old... I gave up long ago with pre-2012 models.... Thing is, they say the system boots up to the system and the bleeps happen when they connect a charger and disconnect... I dunno... I told them to just scrap it and get a newer model as it is just a matter of time before other stuff fails... problems are like dominoes on these oldest A1278's.... fix on thing then another problem soon after.

@danj They say now," It does not turn on. And whenever they try to charge it, it shows orange light on the charger and it beeps". (That is RAM)..... or whatever.... sometimes this and sometimes that....It is a dying horse.

@livfe - What does the battery checker LED's doing when the checker is pressed. How many LED's lit and if they are blinking in unison.
