After 2 drops - one broke the glass a bit and the second completely got rid of any touch sensitivity but display still clean and operates well with mouse - I am in a SA country so no real service center are there parts I can get here?

@sewizard you would need to replace the complete display assembly since the digitizer (touchscreen) is part of the assembly. Since iFixit does not yet have a specific guide for this use something like this video Replacement displays are readily available at many online stores and should be deliverable to your country as well.
While you work on your phone, take lots of pictures. Once you are done with it, take those pictures and create a guide for iFixit. That will help the next person that has a device with the same issues as you do. It's easy and fun to create these guides. https://ifixit.com/Guide/new The iFixit community will appreciate this.
