The Xiaomi Redmi 7 is a low-budget smartphone by Xiaomi released March 2019. It has a 6.26" IPS LCD display, a 12 MP main camera, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, a 4000 mAh battery, and runs on a Snapdragon 632.

How can I change the battery?

My phone has been shut down for about a couple of years now, but I want to retrieve it. It's like some sort of dead boot.

@phebiiii since iFixit does not yet have a specific guide for this task, use something like this video While you replace your battery, check the charging board and the flex cable connecting the charging board to the main board. Make sure it is seated properly and has no tears etc.

While you work on your phone, take lots of pictures. Once you are done with it, take those pictures and create a guide for iFixit. That will help the next person that has a device with the same issues as you do. It's easy and fun to create these guides. https://ifixit.com/Guide/new The iFixit community will appreciate this.
