My usb insert receiver is broken
On the left side when you want to transfer data manually with a USB receiver, when I plug it in it doesn't show the hard drive that I plug in to send data

Does the hard drive have its own power supply or does it get power from the USB port in the laptop?
If it hasn't got its own power supply, try plugging in a mobile phone or a USB mouse and check if the phone starts to charge or the mouse laser light turns on.
