Hi!
Please start by trying to restart your laptop.
Then, please check that your touch pad is not disabled. You probably got a specific fn + key combination that toggles the touch pad state. Alternatively, check in your HP software for turning the touch pad on or off. Sometimes there is a setting that turns off the touch pad if a computer mouse is connected to the laptop.
Additionally, please check that you the latest versions of all your firmware, drivers, windows update and BIOS.
