Alternator belt replacement trouble

How is the belt supposed to be taken off cause it doesn’t have the square hole to put a serpentine belt remover tool to release the tension

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

@riflelover that is correct. It should have an adjusting bolt for the idler pulley. Loosen the idler pulley bracket bolt and then loosen the adjusting bolt. That will decrease the tension on the serpentine belt and you can then remove the belt.

When I turned the silver bolt all it did was rotate the belt though?

@riflelover sounds like you are just turning the idler pulley without releasing the tension. You will need to do it in this order " Loosen the idler pulley bracket bolt and then loosen the adjusting bolt"
