Slow charging of new battery

I'm having the same issues.

I've ordered my first battery here and the experience was sooo bad.

The first batter lost 4% of health in 1 day.

Calibrated perfectly but still it was dropping badly the very last 10% of the charge.

I've started noticing another issue: VERY SLOW CHARGE.

Like during a meeting of 1h I was used to have the battery fully charged at the end.

Instead I started the meeting with 4% and I ended with 4%.

At that stage I've asked for a replacement.

They sent me another battery which was sent the very day that after letting the Mac die to 0% it didn't turn on the next day.

Even after hours of being connected to the charger, it was not turning on. O.o

I've now replaced it with the second battery, fully calibrated and yet....

It's charging a 30W.

I noticed that below 20% meetings start to freeze...

And when the battery is less than 10% it starts to freak out.

I'm starting to regret this decision.

For double the cost, it's worth going to Apple honestly.

Answer this question I have this problem too

I feel your pain! We do need to be careful assuming someone's else's experience is the same as yours.

To start with if you have a 15" MacBook Pro a 30W charger is not powerful enough to harvest this systems battery! So you can't assume the battery is bad! Yes, like most things you can get a bad one once and awhile so that is possible! But let's dig into your problem to be sure!

So what is your exact system?

If you can install this gem of an App Coconutbattery it allow us to see all the needed detail with a simple snapshot of the Apps main window, posting it here so we can see things while the system is under charge.

@danj I think he meant to say "It's charging at 30W. "

because there is no 30w charger available for these old models.

@livfe - yes, there is no Unibody MagSafe 30W, but there is a USB-C 35W. Which is why I asked for the what the model is, as this was posted is a different Q.
