My iphone will not record sound although I gave microphone access to all necessary apps , it blurs out the sound button on videos captured using the phone however other videos that were not recorded using this phone produce sound.

You have the symptoms of what is called "Audio IC disease" it plagued the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. To repair it would require microsoldering and micro jumpers under the audio IC.
I would look into a repair shop that specializes in this kind of micro soldering repair - and back up your data first just to be safe.
Not sure if its ok to post this here because it is my page - but under the audio IC, these are the jumpers that are normally run, before soldering the IC back on.
