My tablet screen is struggling to respond to touch and some parts is not touching at all?

What is the model number of the tablet?
Sounds like the touchscreen is failing and needs to be replaced.
Depending on the model number this may require just replacing the digitizer (touchscreen) only or perhaps the display assembly as it's a complete module i.e. integrated LCD screen + digitizer.
As an example only here's the ifixit 4Sight 9 Digitizer Replacement guide, just to give you some idea what may be involved with the repair if it is a separate digitizer (touchscreen) replacement
