Repair guides, disassembly, and troubleshooting information for the first generation Sony PlayStation 5 DualSense controller, successor to the DualShock series. Identified by model number CFI-ZCT1W and motherboard model BDM-010.

DualSense flashing three white lights when turned on.

Hi there, apologies if this has been answered; I couldn't find it anywhere. I opened up my DualSense and replaced the battery. Now when I turn it on, it flashes blue and connects as normal. The controller works perfectly as well.

The only difference is that now, instead of flashing one white light, it flashes three. I couldn't find anything that explains what this means. I was planning on opening up the device again and checking the connections, but before I do, does anyone happen to know what it means?

EDIT: Here is a video of the issue, hopefully it will play. With the PS5 off and disconnected, I hit the PS button on both controllers. The black controller flashes the blue light bar and one white light. The white controller flashes the blue light bar and three white lights.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Hi!

First of all, make sure that everything is connected as how it should be! Maybe something isn’t connected properly (or fully connected).

You can also try to reset the controller and see if that fix anything.

Is the controller up to date? What happens if you use it directly?

Thanks!

Hello and thank you for your help! I don't see any loose connections in the controller, and I disconnected and reconnected the battery and mic, no change.

Resetting the controller unfortunately also produces no change (I've done that one several times, haha).

The controller is up to date, and plays games perfectly. The lights are normal once it connects, whether by Bluetooth or by USB.

The issue only happens while it's connecting. Instead of one white LED flashing, it flashes three.

Would any pictures or video in particular help to diagnose?

Thanks for the testing! You can upload a video so we can check. The error is not common. Usually it's blinking orange and fail to connect. So it's weird what is happening here....

Got the same issue, any news about this problem? After some time playing it even messed up my other controllers, then I had to restart my PS went to options forget all DS’s and then via USB connected all again. Checked all connections seems all good inside this one DS. But yeah same issue still exists.

Did you opened it up before? It's most likely motherboard related in your case.

I’ve edited the question to add a video of the problem. The controller works perfectly fine, this is just a strange oddity.
