Stuck D-Pad even after cleaning

Hey y'all, my down button on the d-pad is 'stuck' so that when I turn my controller on, it's constantly scrolling down unless i actively press UP on the d-pad. The physical button itself is not stuck in a pressed down position. I already took my controller apart and cleaned the rubber + d-pad and the problem is persisting. Does this sound like a software issue then instead of a hardware one? Any advice would be helpful!

Answer this question I have this problem too

Hi there!

I think it’s more hardware related then software…

I would clean the button circuit membrane and see hoe that goes. If the issue persist, then I would replace the button circuit membrane.

Be aware; you do need the exact same model as the original one! They all look the same, but they are different.

Please let us know if you need any guide!

Thanks! I'll try cleaning & replacing and see if that works. I'll make sure to update with the solution! Appreciate your help.

EDIT: If by circuit membrane you're referring to the conductive rubber, I already cleaned that (along with the button itself) and it did not fix the issue. So my next step will be buying a replacement!

Yes, it’s the ribbon electronic cable I mean! If cleaning didn’t worked, then it’s for the best to replace it! Be aware; make sure you got the EXACT same model as the original one. They do all look the same, but are very different. Please keep us posted! Thanks!
