Drive shaft is stuck

I cannot get the tiller tine drive shaft loose. All the videos I've found show pristine Mantises, and the shaft is easily undone. I'm working on its left-hand side (as I face it with the handlebars in my hands), and use the appropriate 'leftie-loosie' thing (AKA: Counter-clockwise) as shone in all of the videos. But the darn thing just will not unwind. Any help?

Can you remove the tines? Tip the tiller forward so that it rests on the tine guard and fuel tank, and apply penetrating oil such as WD 40 specialist. Leave for a couple of hours, then use a pipe wrench to remove the shaft. If it still resists, gently tap the wrench with a hammer to break the seal, then continue turning it out. My neighbour did this for me. Hope it helps :)
