Battery Replacement: Battery bent during repositioning

I was doing a battery replacement but when I tried putting the trackpad ribbon cable but on, it didn't reach because I had place the new battery cells a little too far down. So I tried to take out the new cells by prying them out and they bent in the process. I was able to flatten them back by hand, but are they still safe? Last thing I want to do is start a battery fire when I connect it. There is still some creasing visible. See pictures:

Bending the battery compresses the layers creating the risk of a short internally which then can cause a runaway condition creating a fire risk! I personally wouldn’t trust it. I’ve seen to many damaged batteries and a few burnt out systems.

While it might work a few times it’s a bit of a time bomb you just don’t know.
