Released on November 22, 2005, the Xbox 360 wireless controller is the primary game controller for the Microsoft's Xbox 360 home video game console.

wireless xbox 360 controller keeps disconnecting

I'm using wireless xbox 360 controllers on my PC with the dongle. Out of nowhere they will disconnect and I have to reinsert the battery pack for it to turn on again. (when I say battery pack I don't mean a third party battery pack or something like that just an FYI. I mean the battery compartment thing where you put two double A's.)

I've tried 3 different controllers and they've all had the same issue. I ordered replacement battery backs from Aliexpress and I'm still having the same issue. I've cleaned the contacts on the back of the controller with isopropyl alcohol, tried different batteries, tried putting my dongle in a different USB port, and did the paper trick where you put a bit of paper where the metal contact thing is in the battery pack to have a tighter connection, and applied electrical tape to the back of the controller to form a better connection. Still having the same issue.

Hi!

So, all the 3 controllers are having the same exact issue when you want to connect them to the PC?

It's very unlikely that it's a hardware issue there.

I think there is something going on with the dongle! Are you sure you have all the required drivers installed for the dongle? If yes, then I would replace the dongle for a different one. What is the brand of the dongle you are using?
