The iPod Seventh Generation, marketed and sold as the "iPod Classic", was released in September 2009, and did not have any visible differences compared to the previous version. It simply replaced the previous 120GB iPod Classic 6.5 with a thin 160GB version.

iPod 7 gen not playing

Ipod apple logo appears but doesn't display menu or song list. does say from time to time connect to iTunes to restart but doesn't work

this issue often indicates one or both of two things either A a corrupted OS or B a failing hard drive if it's a hard drive then you will need to open the iPod and replace it with either a new one or flash memory if it's a corrupted OS I recommend returning the iPod and getting a refund as nothing can be done sadly.
