Some Toshibas do not have a CMOS battery and rely on the main battery. If it totally discharges, as in bad battery, then CMOS goes away.
If your main battery is good, try clicking the Toshiba title above to find out how to open it and look for the CMOS battery.

@tarajeanmi88506 on the P855 it should be soldered to the mother board. The battery itself is a ML1220 3V battery (with solder tags). If you remove the bottom cover from your laptop, the battery will be "right there"
