Left side of the tv screen is dark

As the title says, the left screen on the tv has gone dark or it fades to dark. I suspect its hardware related so I was just wondering if anybody here knows why. Is this something I can fix and is it worth it?

The TV has edge lit backlighting so it may be a faulty LED backlight strip (examples only to show cost - make sure you select your TV model number) or a faulty LED backlight driver.

I couldn't find a video online that shows how to replace the backlight strips in your model (you may have better luck - edge lit TVs are slightly different to TVs with "normal" backlighting i.e. strips are behind the screen in horizontal rows and not just on either side of the screen) but here's a video that may help to test if it is the LED driver that is the problem.

Thanks so much for your answer. I ordered a LED backlight strip to see if that fixes the issue. And thanks for the link to the strips.

I don't think I'll look further into it, if it isn't the LED strip. Fixing the driver seems a bit more complicated.

I'll return with the result.
