Correct thermal pad thickness

Hello, is there any consensus on what the thickness of replacement thermal pads should be? I've seen both 1.5 and 1.0 mm. 1.5 mm seems to be more common, but I haven't found any definitive proof.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Hi!

I used the 1.5mm ones and they are working fine. I recommend to use the 1.5 thickness.

I guess the 1.0mm ones are working fine as well, but I only have experience with 1.5 ones.

Thank you for the quick reply! Do you think it's generally a good idea to replace them if I'm opening my PS5 to clean it anyway?

My pleasure! If you are going to remove the heatsink and plate, check the thermal pads first. If they are full with dust or are broken, then you need to replace them! Also, replacing the liquid metal is a good idea too if you want optimal cooling performance. Be really careful with this tho, it can leak or you can spoil on the motherboard.
