Hi,

If you haven’t already re-started your phone, shut it down and restart it to see if it fixes it.

If you have already tried that and it didn’t work, then it’s possible that you have dropped it and damaged the front camera or gotten the top microphone wet “that part also has the camera and sensors on it”.

So this means you will need to replace the top microphone flex to see if that resolves the issue.

Hope this helps

When your front camera stops working, you will likely experience a black screen, an app freeze, or a "camera failed" error message when attempting to take selfies or use video calls. Common causes include software glitches, app permission issues, or physical hardware failure, often fixed by restarting the device, clearing the app cache, or updating the software.

This video shows how to fix a black screen on your Android camera.

Black Screen/Frozen Display: The camera app opens, but the screen remains black, unresponsive, or shows a frozen image.

Error Messages: You may see messages such as "Camera failed," "Warning: Camera failed," or "Camera not working".

App Specific Failure: The camera may work in the default camera app but fail in third-party apps like Snapchat, Instagram, or Zoom, often due to permission issues. Immediate Troubleshooting Steps:

Restart/Force Restart: Turn your phone off and on again to clear temporary software glitches.

Close All Apps: Force close the camera app and any other apps using it.

Clear Camera App Cache/Data: Go to settings to clear the camera app's cache (Android) to resolve issues without deleting photos.

Check Permissions: Ensure your camera app has permissions allowed in settings.

Remove Accessories: Remove cases or screen protectors that might be obstructing the lens.

Update Software: Check for system updates, as these can fix bugs that break the camera.
