Black screen when turned on

My "Canon PC1060 Digital Ixus i" show a black screen when i turn it on, the problem is not correlated to the screen (i suppose) because when i open the menu section it work perfect! the same for the lens or the flash parts, what can i do?

@marcoiodice since you can see the menu, it is unlikely that this is an LCD issue. Tell us what happens when you shoot an image. If it is saved in black as well, then the issue could be a stuck shutter or a failed sensor/lens mechanism. When no image is displayed although the menu screen is displayed:
•OPTICAL UNIT is defective (the shutter of the lens block is not open, etc.) Looks like the PC1060 was predominantly a Japanese version, it should be the same camera as a PowerShot SD10.

This Disassembly Canon PowerShot SD10 should work for your camera. Just take your time when you disassemble it, just in case there are differences in the construction. You do want to focus on the optical block.

Hi. I also had some problem with the screen (totally black). I checked the disassembly manual you post, but it's wrong. That manual is for IXUS 70 and SD1000. Do you know where I can find the disassembly guide? Thanks!
