Why does my laptop overheat when I set my processor power to 100%

Hi @osborn92573,

Does the fan speed up (or get louder) after you've done this?

Perhaps the fan needs cleaning and also the thermal paste on the CPU needs to be refreshed, so as to maximize the heat transference from the CPU to the heat sink and fan where it can be expelled from the laptop, allowing the CPU to operate within its specified temp range.

Here's the maintenance and service guide for the laptop. Go to p.83 to view the procedure to remove the fan/heat sink assembly.

This will enable you to gently clean the fan and also to refresh the thermal paste on the CPU as it has most probably dried out.
