This could be a number of problems.
1.) Overheating
2.) Malware or Virus
3.) Corrupted Software
4.) Failing Hardware
I would make sure nothing is blocking the air vent of the laptop. Also make sure that the fan/air vents are not dirty. You should be able to find guides how to open it and clean it. Hope this helps.
