Running only on the lowest setting

My Miele vacuum, ECOTEQ PLUS only runs on the lowest setting, which means there is not much power when sucking up dirt. The buttons which allow me to increase suction don't respond when I press them. Can anyone help me what to do? I would like to avoid calling out a Miele expert as it might be expensive and difficult living in the countryside in Mid Wales.

I had the same problem with the Miele c 3. De button to lower the power was stuck. This has probably to do with opening the c3 to change the bag and filters. With a bit of silicone spray and a gentle “ stirring “ with a screwdriver the button was working again. Problem solved
