Hi my fitbit charge 5 said critically low battery. But when i tried to charge it would not charge. I changed the charger and still no go. The green lights in back will not even light up, but it does vibrate when the charger is put on and off. I tried resetting, cleaning the contacts etc. It also will not sync.
What else can I do.
Is this a good question?

I had the same problem. The battery finally died out. My watch just passed the warranty for two months. Fitbit offered me 30% to buy a new one. Fitbit doesn’t take responsibility for their low reliability product

Same here bought 17 months ago. Battery has died.

Cover the basics:
1) make sure the USB charging port you're using works with other devices.
2) make sure the contacts on your fitbit and charging cable are clean and properly aligned
3) press the button on your charging cable to reboot your fitbit
05/08/2025 : I meet the same problem with you , and I find out where is the problem . the key is the plastic back cover , witch with 4 contacts , this cover will get up and disconnect with the mainboard , even here will open the shell let water come in , so , the battery also will be shot life range .
My solution is , open the back cover , take out old battery , and replace it with a new battery (2 Doller on Taobao), then , i will use K-704 glue to seal the back cover ,and take one day with pressure on the cover , to make sure the contacts tight !

The "recommended" solution seems to be to
(1) Attach your charge cable to your pc USB port
(2) put your fitbit to charge
(3) Tap on the screen three (3) times within 1.5 seconds
this is supposed to "reset" the fitbit and "solve" the problem.
It worked once for me but now it doesn't anymore.
Fitbit solves the obsolesence problem by breaking down and becoming e-waste well before. Pathetic build quality and caveat emptor anyone who is taken in by them.
