Why is my iPod frozen?

My iPod nano 2nd generation won't function. The light is on, but the menu won't come up. Nothing will move.

I don't recommend attempting to fix it,
It proves very difficult to repair,
Even if the logic board wasn't the problem its still difficult to repair.
