Repair information and guides for the iPhone 6S released by Apple on September 25, 2015. Models: A1688, A1633

Battery charging and draining fast

I know the 6s is pretty irrelevant at this point but I’m running into an issue. The phone seems to be charging and dying at a very fast rate. It seems to only deplete while using it though. I have rust replaced the battery and it says life is at 100% but nothing has changed. I think this may have started when I used one of those new fast iPhone chargers that come with the 11. Is this a U2 ic replacement?

If the charger you used is an aftermarket and with an aftermarket cable that might easily be the case, but unless one has a Tristar tester it’s not possible to say yes or no for sure. Tristar maybe be the reason as well as any other part that can get shorted for one or another reason, a bump or a simple inner failure. You may try disconnecting parts such as camera, dock, etc to see if you can isolate the issue.

This is a software issue because with iOS 12/13 apple slowed down older phones and even with a new battery it won’t help the iPhone the only way to fix it is to somehow downgrade the software
