12 inch retro table fan with oscillation and 3 speed capabilities.

Why is my fan overheating?

I feel heat radiating from my 12 inch Insignia NS-F12R6-SS Fan. I am concerned that this could potentially be a fire risk if it persists.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Wishing I could find a local repair shop I think the issue is more than just needing lubricant. Grandson knocked the fan off the table and I think the oscillating mechanism is in a bind.

If your fan is overheating it may need cleaning or lubrication. Key components that may need attending are the blades and rotor.

Thank you Hank. I love this fan and refused to throw it away. I couldn't find anyone to work on it . I walked past it every day for 5 years.

Out of the blue it occurred to me to plug it in and see if it worked. It did but it stopped turning again. I kept it clean always for years so I had stored it in ble recycling bags in the garage. So dirt wasn't the entire issue. I had never lubricated it.

Thank you for your help. So nice to not have to throw it away. I guess I always thought someone else smarter would pick it up and it would work great for many years for them. I just didn't want to give it up. Sometimes girls can fix it too with a little help.

Thank you Hank
