Options

Switch from quick view to live view, in the live view settings. that should fix it

Fantastic thanks. Had the same problem with my Canon EOS1300D(W). Must have changed the settings for quick shooting without realising it wasn't saving to the card. Lost half the photos from holiday, but problem solved thanks very much.
