Why wont my lens open?

Released in 2014, the Samsung WB350F camera has a 21x zoom and wifi capabilities.

My camera was stepped on. Now the lens only opens some times, and does not open straight.

Options

The plastic gears for the lens are damaged and probably nor repairable. Lens assembly replacement required. Quite expensive.
