I broke my LCD screen?

I dropped my camera. The LCD is cracked and i can't see anything, however it turns on and off. Do i need to replace the LCD with backlight? can i replace the LCD without backlight? thankx

I think you'll find the screen and backlight come as a unit. If you hang out on eBay, before long you should be able to get another camera of the same model and with a different fault such as a lens error quite cheaply. Swapping the LCDs should then be relatively simple.
