1 Repair my external hard drive?
I accidently dropped my hard drive and now it just makes a screeching sound and is not recognized by CPU. Can the data be recovered?

Yes, it is possible to recover data from an HDD that has undergone physical damage (depending on the type of damage, of course). In this case, stop using your drive entirely; you could worsen your chances of recovery. Data recovery software will NOT help you. Do not open it up. Directly consult with a professional service.

Hello There,
Make sure after dropping your hard drive, the inside parts are safe. Is it detected by the system if not then data recovery software will not help you to recover your data.
So i will suggest you to get and data recovery expert advise.

You’re going to need to bring this to a data recovery professional, its the only way to recover the data safely. Unfortunately, they cost a large amount of money.
I cannot stress how important it is to keep important data backed up on a separate drive for reasons like this. You never know when something can go wrong. Also, SSDs and flash storage are much more reliable so I recommend you use that from now on.
