Oral-B Type 3710: My toothbrush charges only on one outlet, most of the time.

I am on my third BraunOral B rechargeable toothbrush. My toothbrush charges well at home in my bathroom. It usually keeps a charge for about 4 days of brushing twice a day. When I travel, I take my charger with me. I have found, though, that my toothbrush does not charge in most places. It will lose its charge on the fourth day and although I move the charger to different outlets in the hotel room or the house, the toothbrush will not charge. Upon returning home I plug it in to its regular outlet and it charges fine. I plugged it into a battery and it showed that the charger was not pulling any power, yet worked like a champ when I got home. How can I fix this problem?

Electric Toothbrush: Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart, Vbat+ and Vbat- short circuit

I have Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart hx9918, it stopped working after I left it charging for a while, so I disassembled it, removed battery and measured resistance between Vbat+ and Vbat-, and it was about 34 Ohm, which indicates some failure in circuitry. Likely has to do with power related circuitry. Does anyone have a schematic guide, or where I can measure with multimeter/scope to identify problematic IC/component so I'd replace it? I believe I had standard warranty of 1 year, which is gone already. In any case, I'd like to repair it myself.

Braun Oral-B Type 3765: It is working normally, but it won't be charged at all.

Hello,

I bought this Oral-B electric toothbrush about two to three years ago. It has been one of the most valuable gadgets I've owned.

Last week, I put the brush on the iPhone's wireless charging pod during my business trip since I didn't bring the Oral-B original charger

When I put the brush on the phone charger, the LED lights of the brush were on, and it looked like charging.

However, the LED lights turned off after about 5 to 10 seconds on the charging pod, but the brush was still working normally."

After I came back home and connected the brush to the original Oral-B charging pod, there was no response at all.

By the way, I cross-checked the original charging pod with another brush, and it is just fine.

In my opinion, the charging system of the brush could be damaged.

Link: https://photos.app.goo.gl/qtPJvXpQGDujMR...

Can I get some help in here?

Thanks,

Electric Toothbrush: Philips Sonicare - Head shaft screw and washer replacement

Hello.

I just took apart my Philip Sonicare HX680C toothbrush in order to tighten the head shaft screw, as it has been very loose lately - common complaint. To my surprise, however, when I opened the toothbrush, the screw and washer that are supposed to be there have seemingly vanished entirely. With my micrometer nowhere to be found, would anyone be able to tell me what the appropriate dimensions of the screw and washer? Thanks!

Electric Toothbrush: Dead, but sometimes starts up and works for a second on two

Hi,

I have an IO (not sure which model but has the LCD display) which stopped working completely. Sometimes you press the button and it starts up, you see the intro animation for a second or two and then dies again, usualy doesn't do anything for a few hours after that when you press the button again.

I took it apart and the battery seems fine (3.8V), the button itself is also working. I wonder if this is a known fault and if it's realistic to try and fix it, or if it's going to be one of these microcontrollers or just any one of the tiny countless unlabelled resistors/capacitors and I'm better off just throwing it in the bin.

Philips Sonicare DiamondClean: Metal head attachment & metallic driver rotated resulting in noise

My Sonicare was suffering from one of the usual problems that the magnets and the metallic driver were too close and I had to increase the distance between the two (see description here) which was a rather easy fix. I have also ordered a new metal head including the plastic parts to again have a properly watertight toothbrush.

However, there is one remaining issue which results in a lot of noise. The triangular shaped part where the metal head is attached using a screw is rotated as shown in the image below (red arrow points to rotated triangular shaped part):

This is due to an issue "lower down" in the toothbrush where the metallic driver (blue arrow in image below) - which is directly connected/linked to the above mentioned "triangular shaped" part - is rotated as well.

By forcing quite a bit I can rotate it back to "normal" position, however, as soon as I switch on the toothbrush the whole thing gets stuck again in the rotated position.

My two possible explanations so fare are that a) the magnetic force in the two magnets has somehow changed which results in a rotation or b) there was some abrasion or similar on the surface of the metallic driver which results in this rotation.

Any ideas on how to fix this would be highly appreciated!

Oral-B Vitality: Is anybody knows what is the IC controlling the toothbrush?

I have two toothbrushes Oral-B D100 (type 3710) for kids with the same problem : They're dead ! I opened them and confirmed the voltage (1.2Vdc). The power button did nothing. The problem seems to come from the 14 pins IC inside. It it a CCE7102 chip, but there is no information on Internet about this IC.

Is anybody can tell me what is the purpose of this chip (probably a PIC or something like that) and how to confirm if the problem really come from this one ?

The battery is good, the motor works (as soon as I put 1.3Vdc on the motor, the head start to wiggle. If I bypass a transistor controlled by this IC just beside it (shorting emitter and collector), the toothbrush start normally (until I remove my short).

I know it is just a toothbrush, but I'm really curious about the fonction of this IC an I want to learn. Thank you
