The Samsung Galaxy XCover Pro Screen shows only a black screen when supposedly powered on. Solutions to this issue are listed below!
Phone Has Failed to Turn on Due to Lack of Charge
Initial issues with the screen could be misinterpreted as component malfunctions if the device is not charged. Ensure that the device is connected to a charger while trying to power on or leave connected to a charger for an extended period to ensure a max charge. Then try to power the device to observe the screen’s behavior.
Software Malfunction/Device Overload
The Samsung XCover Pro is known to run at a limited pace due to device limitations; screen malfunctions can be caused by a buildup of software processes limiting the phone’s functionality. Try rebooting the phone by turning it off and turning it back on again to give the phone time to filter out some unneeded processes.
Screen/Backlight Component is Faulty
A common issue with the Samsung XCover Pro is that the screen fails to show an image despite providing audio or otherwise showing that the phone is active. You can force shutdown of the device by holding the power button and one of the volume buttons down for an extended period of time, around 10 seconds. If this doesn't work, refer to our guide on screen replacement here.
Device Motherboard Failure
Screen malfunctions can be caused by an issue with the motherboard, either failed connectors between components or a total shutdown of the motherboard. Look for a guide to aid with replacement or repair of the motherboard to aid with this cause.
