Samsung Galaxy A54 5G Will Not Connect to Internet
The phone has no access to the Internet despite being configured to 4G/5G or Wi-Fi.
The Basics
- Ensure that the phone is well configured: Airplane mode off, Wi-Fi on, Data roaming on (if you are not at home) and the SIM card functional.
- Verify the local network coverage with your mobile operator.
- Check your router. If other devices connected to the same router do not work, unplug and replug the router. If the problem persists, change the frequency (in GHz) in your router settings.
Unresponsive Network Signal
The phone tries to connect to a specific network that is unresponsive.
- Swipe down for the Quick Panel to activate Airplane mode. Wait for a few seconds, then turn off the mode.
- If that does not work, hold the power and volume down buttons simultaneously and select Restart.
Network Instability and Incorrect APN Configuration
The phone fails to connect due to signal instability during 5G handovers, corrupted carrier access protocols, or deep-seated software configuration conflicts.
- 5G signals can be inconsistent. Select Connections - Mobile networks - Network mode - LTE preferred.
- In the Access Point Names menu, click the three dots above and select Reset to default.
- If the problem persists, select General management - Reset - Reset all settings (or Reset mobile network settings / Reset Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings) and restart the phone.
Dysfunctional SIM Card
The SIM card is a small card used to identify and authenticate the device to a cellular network.
- Make sure your SIM card is correctly inserted.
- If your phone still won’t connect to the network, your SIM C*card may be damaged and in this case, it needs to be replaced.
Software (Android / One UI) Not Up-to-Date
Software updates often include enhancements that improve the performance and functionality of applications and operating systems. Therefore, outdated software can lead to compatibility issues.
- Go to Settings, choose Software update and make sure your phone is up-to-date. If not, download the available update.
Software (Android / One UI) Update
If you recently updated your phone and didn’t face network issues before the update, it is possible that the issue is caused by the new update.
- Roll back to the previous update version in your Settings.
- Wait for the next update.
Incompatible Phone Components
If you recently replaced a component (for example, the battery), the network issue may stem from there.
- Make sure the components are compatible with your phone. If not, replace the components with compatible ones. (Example: Charging module K2)
To replace the battery, you can refer to this guide. You can also replace the motherboard or daughterboard if they are not compatible with your phone.
