RIDGID R7111 Troubleshooting

The drill is unresponsive and will not turn on

Insert the end of the power cord into an electrical outlet. Make sure the power cord is firmly, and completely in the socket.

Wires inside the drill can become damaged and worn during normal use of the drill, you can follow this guide to check the wires inside the drill. If the wires are connected and the device will still not turn on you will need to replace the wires by following this guide.

The brushes connect the power cord to the trigger switch and can become worn through normal use, follow this guide to replace them.

The drill is extremely hot and is difficult to hold because of the heat

The drill can become very hot through constant use, turn the drill off using the trigger switch, unplug the power cord from the outlet, and let the drill sit idle until it cools down before continuing using it.

 When in use, debris and dust can enter the drill through the exhaust which blocks the airflow through the drill, use a Q tip or another small object to remove the clog(s).

The power cord is split, bent in an odd angle, or wires are showing

The drill will experience common wear and tear through natural use, you can follow this guide to replace the power cord.

When pressing the trigger switch the head will not rotate and is unresponsive

When in use, it is possible dust and debris got caught in the inside of the trigger switch, remove the cover and clear the debris. If this does not solve the issue you may need to replace the trigger switch and/or the power cord, you can follow this guide to replace the trigger switch and power cord.

The wires inside the drill could have been knocked loose and require reconnection, you can follow this guide to get inside the drill and make sure all wires are connected.

When inserted the drill bit is wobbly or falls out

It is likely the chuck is not fastened tight enough around the drill bit, rotate the chuck clockwise to tighten its hold on the drill bit.

If the chuck does not tighten you may need to replace the chuck by following this guide.
