Botvac will not charge

The robot will not charge when it is plugged in.

Not Plugged In

Check to make sure that your devices charging cable is properly plugged in to the outlet and to the device. If this is not the case then it will not charge.

Faulty Outlet

Plug a different device into the outlet you're using, if that device does not seem to be receiving power either then the outlet may be faulty and you should plug your robot into another outlet.

Dirty Charge Bar

The charge bar for your device will not work if it is dirty. Wipe down the charging bars on both the robot and the charging station with a dry cloth. Then ensure the area is clear of debris and plug your robot back in.

Faulty Battery

The battery of your device may have degraded after continued use. To replace the battery in this scenario you should need to find and remove the battery door on the bottom of the Botvac, pop out the old batteries, and replace them with new batteries of the same type.

Botvac has erratic navigation

The robot is driving in random directions and bumping into things.

Faulty Sensors

Your device's sensors may be dirty or otherwise unable to properly relay information. Clean the 2 drop sensors and 1 wall sensor on your device using a microfiber towel or a Q-Tip. If the problem persists, clean the Botvac’s main laser at the top of the unit, using a Q-Tip or short bursts of compressed air from about 6 inches away. You may also want to check the device's 4 bumper sensors. Press each one in and release, you should hear 2 clicks as you do this. If one of the bumpers gets stuck press and release it a few times in quick succession in order to free it. If there are still problems try turning the device off and back on and check if the problem persists.

Dirty Wheels

The wheels may be dirty and disrupting the movement. Spin them in order to remove dust and debris.

Dirt Buildup

Your Botvac may have a build up of dirt and debris inside, in this case you will need to open it up and clean it out.

Faulty Brush

Remove the brush to clean it and check that the magnet is still in place. Then reinsert the brush and check to see if there is resistance when you spin it manually. Next start a cleaning run to see if the metal peg near the side brush is clean. If the problem persists, turn the device off and back on again and reassess.
