Screen is Delayed

If there is a slowed or lack of response to touching the screen

Dirty Screen

You may have a dirty screen or issues with the screen protector. Check the screen protector for any cracks. If there are cracks, replace the screen protector. If no cracks are found, proceed to check the screen for cleanliness. To fix the device, clean it with a lint-free cloth and make sure your hands are clean and dry.

Power Button is Unresponsive

If the device isn't turning on

Dead Batteries

The batteries could be dead or incompatible with the device. Open the device and remove the batteries to test if they're still working. Replace the batteries if needed.

Audio is Distorted

There may be issues with the clarity of the speaker

Faulty Speaker

If your device has distorted sounds, the sound doesn't match up to text, or there are delayed sounds, the speaker is not working properly. Disassemble the speaker to see if the speaker is dirty or something is blocking the speaker. After cleaning it, put the speaker back together and place it in the leapfrog. If it still doesn't work, replace the speaker.

Buttons are Unresponsive

Buttons are stuck or not functioning

Dirt Underneath the Buttons

If the buttons are hard to press and sometimes get stuck, then there may be dirt stuck underneath them. You will have to remove the back cover and spray the device with a powered air duster. Refer to this guide: Button Replacement

Distorted or Black Pictures

Pictures taken using the LeapFrog LeapPad 32400 rear camera do not turn out well

Dirty Camera

The camera lenses must be kept clean and free of debris to function properly. Check that there is no debris on the camera lens. Clean the lens with a soft, dry cloth (e.g. microfiber cloth) to remove any visible debris.

Faulty Camera

A camera substitution may be necessary for a faulty camera. Analyze the camera and make note of any scratches or uncleanliness. Camera issues can arise from software issues, poor maintenance, and low battery. Replace the camera by removing the faulty lens.
