HP Envy 5530 Troubleshooting

The printer displays an error message which says the memory card won’t read.

Ensure the file is on the memory card, then reinsert.

The HP Envy 5530 is compatible with Secure Digital (SD), Secure Digital Mini (adapter required), Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC), Secure Digital Extended Capacity (SDXC), or TransFlash MicroSD Card (adapter required). Check to make sure your memory card is one of these types then reinsert.

Memory card may be unable to read if broken or defective. Try another memory card.

Paper doesn’t come out of the printer.

Check if the paper tray slides are appropriately sized for the paper

Printer Doesn’t turn on when the power button is pressed

Check rear of printer and make sure power cable is fully inserted.

No paper comes out of the computer when prompted.

Check to see if the power is on. If it is, the power button will be illuminated.

Lift the innermost printer cover so you can see the ink cartridges. Locate the cartridge you want to replace. Flip the topmost tab up. Remove the ink cartridge and replace it with a new one.

Ensure printer paper is in place on the printer tray within the white guides. Also ensure you are using paper that is not larger than 8.25 inches wide by 11.75 inches tall.

Paper does not go into printer when prompted.

Lift the innermost printer cover so you can see the ink cartridges. Locate the roller cover. Push the two gray plastic tabs of the roller cover together and lift up. If you see any obstructions in the printing rollers, remove them, put the roller cover back in place and reprint.
