Computer Will Not Power On

The computer doesn't show any sign of powering up

Corrupted Graphics Drivers

Outdated or corrupted graphics drivers can cause display problems. You can try booting into Safe Mode and updating or reinstalling your graphics drivers. access the link to update your graphics card right here

Faulty Battery or AC Adapter Problems

A dead battery or a malfunctioning AC adapter can prevent the laptop from powering on. Ensure that the laptop is getting power from a working AC adapter or the battery is charged. here is more information on that here.

Loose components

Having loose components could be another reason why the laptop isn't powering on you can fix this by unplugging and plugging parts starting with the PCI card and RAM. then moving on to the other components. Here is more information on that here

The computer is making unusual noises.

Faulty hard drive

A grinding noise and ticking noise from your hard drive means mechanical failure and should be taken care of to prevent data loss in the future and system instability. To replace your hard drive, you will need to disconnect the battery and take off the screws on the bottom there is a step-by-step guide on how to do it here.

Faulty power adapter

Unusual hissing or popping noises from the computer could be due to electrical issues with the power adapter or charging port. First, make sure that the noise isn't caused by external sources like loose headphone jacks or nearby electronic devices. next, we would check the power adapter and consider changing it. here is a step-by-step guide on how to replace it here

The computer gets warmer than usual and shuts off.

Dirty cooling fan

If the laptop overheats, it may shut down automatically and refuse to power on until it cools down. Check for dust buildup in the cooling system and clean it if necessary, by taking off the screw on the bottom and removing the bottom plate. here is a video of where you should clean here.

Old thermal paste

Laptops have thermal protection mechanisms that can prevent them from turning on if they detect excessive heat. Thermal paste is used to help the laptop stay functional by transferring the heat of the CPU to the heat sink. here is a video step by step on how to apply thermal paste here.
