I thought it was finally time to retire it...

My Problem

So this is a iPod Photo 20 GB - pretty ancient stuff! But clad in a silicone case it has survived years of use in my car and office. Lately battery life really dropped off - less than one album of play time and it can't play while connected to a computer USB.

My Fix

iFixIt to the rescue! Their iPod 4G/Photo Replacement Battery kit and T6 Torx Screwdriver (and Guide of course!) were flawless and let me install the new battery in about 20 minutes. Battery life is excellent again, hours of worry-free playback! Not a nick or scratch on the cover since the kit came with two spudgers.

My Advice

After months of use I'm really happy I did this upgrade, maybe someday I'll buy a 160 GB Classic but until then this lets me keep most of my good collection on hand in addition to Pandora on my iPhone 5.
