iPod 5th Generation (Video) Front Panel Replacement

20 - 40 minutes

Moderate

My Problem

I was given the iPod for free because it had a broken headphone jack. I replaced the headphone jack from eBay and decided to keep it for myself but the front of the iPod was worn, scratched, and cracked like it had been dragged along a sidewalk.

My Fix

Repair guides made the process especially easy, it took about a half hour altogether. The only hard part was aligning the click-wheel with the front panel when putting it back together.

My Advice

Buy the plastic opening tools, don't try and pry it open with a small screw driver! I've seen people do this in the past.
