Great Experience. However, problem not fixed..Yet

My Problem

The back light used to go on and off as i move the screen or reset the brightness settings. It still does that. However, It takes a bit more movement to trigger it. I believe that the while LCD need to be replaced to fully cover the problem. For my current budget, I can't afford that. But i will be doing it later for sure.

My Fix

I ordered the wrong Inverter cable in the beginning. I wish I opened the Macbook first THEN compared the cable to the picture online. Other than that, the replacement process was very easy. I had to take the laptop apart twice since I had to wait for the right part to come in. The first time, it took me 45 min to take it apart.... the second time it took me 30 min to take it apart, replace the cable and put the whole thing back together again. it was a breeze, and the iFixit Instructions are very clear and easy to follow. I don't have a printer but I used my iPhone. The only gripe I have with the iPhone app is that it doesn't label the Steps like the website does so I had to count each step mentally so I can label them on the project mat.

My Advice

Again, if you can, open the laptop first before ordering parts that have more than one version. If you had the laptop for few years and never had the Thermal Paste replaced, I say do that while you are at it.
