iMac Dual Hard Drive Kit

My Problem

I need a lot of storage space for images and video files but for my home computer I didn't want the same setup as in my studio (I run a media production company so we have rack servers)...

I wanted the elegant hardware solution of an iMac matched with decent storage space and a dual SSD/HDD setup with minimal extra cost (purchasing from Apple is ruinously expensive) and the iFixit kit seemed the ideal solution.

My Fix

I am not massively technically inclined - I am no engineer - but following the iFixit guide religiously and laying out and numbering all the components meant I got the install done in under 2 hours and with little hassle or stress.

My son Milo, who you can see in one of the pictures, provided great entertainment when I needed a break from unscrewing parts!

My Advice

If you want to install this kit you must follow iFixit's install guide and take your time...as long as you do this you will not have any issues!
