My Problem
I wanted to add an SSD SATA drive to improve speed. I also added additional 4GB RAM pair.

Awesome! now I'm filling up this form on my improved iMAC
My Advice
never panic... read labels of connectors and terminals on the circuit boards to make sure you're touching the correct wires.
