Zanussi Washing Machine Dispenser Drawer Cleaning

What you need

    • Make sure the washing machine is off and no wash program is running.

    • Unplug the washing machine before cleaning inside the dispenser cavity.

    • Keep water away from the control panel and electrical parts.

    • Wear rubber gloves if mold or detergent residue may irritate your skin.

    • Find the dispenser drawer, also called the detergent drawer.

    • This removable drawer is used for washing powder and conditioner.

    • Residue can build up in the drawer and inside the opening behind it.

    • Pull the dispenser drawer straight out until it reaches the click point.

    • Stop pulling when the drawer clicks or resists, as this is the release point.

    • Don't force the drawer past the click point, or the catch may break.

    • If the drawer feels stuck before the click point, push it in a little and pull it straight out again.

    • Press the release button downward very gently to release the catch.

    • Keep the button pressed and slide the drawer out of the machine.

    • If the drawer won't move, hold it level, press the release button down again, and wiggle the drawer gently while pulling straight out.

    • Don't yank the drawer, as detergent residue can make it feel stuck and the catch can break.

    • Put the dispenser drawer in a bowl.

    • Rinse the drawer and wash it with soapy water.

    • Use an old cloth to remove mold, washing powder residue, and conditioner residue.

    • Rinse the drawer until no loose residue remains.

    • Wipe the inside of the dispenser drawer cavity with an old cloth and soapy water.

    • Clean away visible mold, residue, and residue inside the opening.

    • Use the old cloth damp, not dripping, when cleaning the cavity.

    • Don't pour water into the cavity or spray water toward the control panel.

    • Line up the dispenser drawer with the grooves in the opening.

    • Push the drawer in very gently until it reaches the click point.

    • Press the release button down.

    • Keep the button pressed and slide the drawer all the way home.

    • Check that the drawer opens and closes smoothly.

    • Select a 90 °C washing program or the Drum Clean option.

    • Use this after refitting the drawer to help keep the washing machine clean.
