I just got a rechargable battery pack but the springs are still connected to the controller. How do i safely remove the springs without damaging or taking apart the controller?

Use vinegar and a cue tip to clean the alkaline off. Then clean the vinegar off with Isopropyl alcohol. Sandpaper, or wire brush if really bad
