    • Unplug the dryer from the power outlet.

    • Unscrew the backplate by rotating each screw counterclockwise with a ratchet and 8mm socket.

    • The screws are located around the edges of the backplate.

    • The backplate is a heavy object. Hold the backplate while removing the screws or get assistance. Dropping the backplate can cause injury or break the gas pipe.

    • Lift the backplate off of the dryer.

    • Pull out the blue terminal cables on the thermal fuse with a needle nose plier.

    • Keep track of what terminal fuse goes on top and bottom.

    • Remove the screw from the thermal fuse with the ratchet and 8mm socket.

    • Place the new thermal fuse and secure the screw with the ratchet and 8 mm socket.

    • Insert the blue terminal cables to the thermal fuse with a needle nose plier.

    • Put the back plate on the dryer.

    • If possible, have someone hold it up to align all the holes on the backplate and dryer while you use the ratchet and 8 mm socket to replace the screws.
