What you need

    • Loosen all pegs you plan to replace.

    • Remove the strings so there is no tension on the tuning pegs.

    • If you do not plan on reusing the strings, you can use pliers or a wire cutter to snip the strings to remove them faster.

    • Unscrew all three larger screws and corresponding nuts.

    • Unscrew all four of the smaller screws.

    • Remove the tuning pegs by grabbing the white part of the peg and pulling away from the guitar.

    • Slide out the tuning pegs by grabbing the peg from the bottom of the guitar and pulling away from the guitar.

    • Complete the first step 2x times for the remaining tuning pegs.

    • Complete the second step 2x times for the remaining tuning pegs.

    • Remove the metal plate and place off to the side.

    • Clean the tuning peg holes to remove any dust or wood debris.

    • Use a gentle soapy solution to clean your guitar so the paint does not fade or chip.

    • Align the new metal plates with the existing holes.

    • Insert the smaller screws into the holes on the metal plate and the guitar head.

    • Use a screwdriver to tighten the screws and secure the metal plate.

    • Insert new tuning pegs by grabbing the white part of the pegs and sliding them into the metal plates.

    • Insert and tighten the bigger screws and the washers to secure each new peg firmly in place

    • Restring the guitar once the new tuning pegs are installed.

    • Check that each peg turns smoothly and holds tension by tuning the guitar.
