VanMoof S2 Bel and Boost Button Replacement

What you need

  1. VanMoof S2 Bel and Boost Button Replacement, Loosen the caliper: step 1, image 1 of 1
    • Brake cable needs to be loosened at caliper, undo the bolt with a 5mm allen key (you don’t have to remove the bolt).

    • Pull the right brake lever and remove the brake wire from the lever.

    • Slide the outer sleeve of the cables up to gain access to the cable.

    • Cut the shrink sleeve open along the length of the cable. Be careful not to cut the cables or yourself.

    • Disconnect the connectors and cut off the connectors on the bike side.

    • Strip both cables and connect them with your fingers to check if the wiring is ok (the bike should be switching power levels while bike is on).

    • If this is working, solder the non-connector side of the extended cable to the stripped cable on the bike side (if this is not working, bike needs to be shipped to VanMoof).

    • Push the cable in the frame, try to push it down and not back (towards the display). To check if it is pushed in properly, turn the handle bar as far to the left as possible. You should feel a firm stop, compare this with the right side. If it feels soft (damped) reinsert the cable and test again.

    • Re-connect the connectors from the extended cable to the connectors on the button side again.

    • Test the button (if it switches power levels while the bike is turned on).
