Introduction

Follow this guide to replace the right speaker of a Valve Index VR Headset.

Power off and unplug your Index before you begin your repair.

What you need

Step 1 Unscrew the right speaker

Use a T6 Torx screwdriver to remove the 8.1 mm screw securing the right speaker to the head strap.

Step 2 Remove the right speaker

Remove the right speaker from the head strap.
During reassembly, ensure the metal contact points on the speaker are aligned with the contact points on the head strap.

Compare your new replacement part to the original part—you may need to transfer remaining components or remove adhesive backings from the new part before installing.

To reassemble your device, follow the above steps in reverse order.
